Pistols play LA
The Sex Pistols made their return to the live stage overnight, playing to 500 fans at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles.
The legendary punk outfit gave a warm-up show for their upcoming British tour on the Sunset Strip, in their first live appearance in four years.
John Lydon, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook played for an hour, running through the highlights of their 30-year-old back catalogue.
The Pistols apparently appeared rusty at the gig, with Lydon forgetting the words for the opening song, "Holidays In The Sun".
However, the outspoken singer showed some signs of the spirit and attitude that once defined the band, at one point telling Paris Hilton to "kiss my arse".
Lydon also lost his temper with a member of the crowd, reportedly threatening to kill a "coward" who threw a drink at him.
The Sex Pistols are scheduled to play the following UK shows next month:
November 2007
08+09+12 Brixton Academy, London 17 MEN Arena, Manchester 19 Brixton Academy, London
