Gloria Gaynor has revealed that she wants to open a help centre in the US.
The American singer became inspired to help people after hearing countless stories about how her 1979 hit I Will Survive supported women through troubled times. She is currently training to be a counsellor and hopes that the centre will open in time for the 30th anniversary of the song's original release.
"I've had stories from so many people about how special that song has been to them," Gloria is quoted by The Mirror as saying. "I know there is pain out there and I want to do something.
"I want it to be a place to come with the entire family. It will be an outlet for fun and to learn how to have peace and harmony in every aspect of life."
