Thank you Helen for this news I'm much obliged to you Lydon warns Doherty (Friday October 05, 2007 11:22 AM) John Lydon has warned Pete Doherty not to become "a tragedy", in the same way that Sid Vicious did. The Sex Pistols' singer says the Babyshambles star has no future if he continues to use drugs as such an integral part of his life. Lydon, who takes his reformed punk icons back on the road later this month month, was speaking as Doherty reportedly completed a six-week stint in a drug rehab facility. "Pete's got to realise Sid was a tragedy, and that's not an image to be wanting", Lydon explained, referring to the bass player's heroin overdose in 1979. "You can get trapped in the drugs thing. They are only something you should use for entertainment and recreation! "It's certainly not a way of life, and it is certainly not going to help him have any kind of future. He knows, but he's trapped in this publicity hype that he can't break out of." Sex Pistols play the following reunion dates: October 2007 25 The Roxy, Los Angeles November 08+09+12 Brixton Academy, London 17 MEN Arena, Manchester 19 Brixton Academy, London The Sex Pistols also re-release the infamous single "God Save The Queen" on October 8, to mark the 30th anniversary of its release.

John Lydon still hates the monarchy Friday, October 5 2007
Sex Pistol John Lydon has claimed that he still hates the monarchy and doesn't regret making 'God Save The Queen'.
Speaking about the re-release of the 1977 single, which features the line: "God save the Queen / The facist regime," Lydon argued that the record wasn't a personal attack but was directed at the institution of the monarchy.
The punk star told The Sun: "It’s never personal. It’s about the institution and the way it’s separated itself from the rest of us and we/you the taxpayer are 'obliged' to be loyal.
"I find that a bit repulsive because it is the same way we were 'obliged' to be loyal to Tony Blair and he took us to war.
"I think each person should have the right to say how they feel about these things, and if that’s our monarchy, well, it will be my monarchy when I have a say about it. And there’s no youth rebellion now; there’s bugger all being done."
The I'm A Celebrity... contestant added: "It’s the spoilt-brat side of it that I resented - and the isolation that those people suffer. It’s made them a load of inbred daft thingys

Sex Pistols tempted to make new record Friday, October 5 2007
John Lydon has admitted that it is tempting to record some new material with the Sex Pistols.
The 'God Save The Queen' rockers have reformed for a series of gigs in November and the frontman hasn't ruled out the possibility of the group returning to the studio.
Lydon told The Sun: "Would we make any new stuff? Maybe. Only if the vibe was right. I'm never going to force myself back into that.
"There's many aspects of the Pistols I love and adore, but there's a lot I don't. I've got my solo stuff, I've got Public Image. I'm doing an awful lot of TV work, which I love
