Madonna: 50th birthday tour?

Madonna is in discussions about a landmark world tour in 2008 to mark her 50th birthday, according to reports.
The music superstar is understood to be nearing completion on a new album, to follow 2005's "Confessions On A Dancefloor".
She is expected to accompany the release with a series of shows, which will go under the banner 'Madonna At 50'.
The pop icon hits the landmark age on August 16, and is rumoured to be planning a massive show in New York City's Central Park near to that date.
The new tour will follow her controversial, 50-date "Confessions" global jaunt, which contributed significantly to her earnings of $35 million last year.
There are currently no confirmed details about Madonna's comeback album, although both Timbaland and Justin Timberlake are said to be involved.
