Sir Cliff to play 60th Wembley gig
Sir Cliff Richard is to perform his 60th gig at Wembley Arena next year.
The singer will play three nights at the venue as part of his Time Machine tour, which celebrates his 50-year career.
He is the arena's most popular act, having played a further 14 times in addition to his 60 headline slots. The late Luther Vandross performed there 44 times, followed by Status Quo with 40 appearances.
Sir Cliff took to the stage at the venue for the first time in 1960 as part of an NME poll winners' concert. His first headlining show took place in July 1984, when he reunited with backing band The Shadows.
He has since played a further 57 concerts, most recently appearing for a five-night run in November 2006.
