Meatloaf 'retirement' denied (Thursday November 01, 2007 06:55 PM) Meatloaf announced his retirement from music at a show in Newcastle last night, it has been claimed. The rock veteran left the stage abruptly an hour into his gig at the Metro Radio Arena, reportedly telling the crowd he had just played his last ever concert. However, these claims have been denied today, with Meatloaf's promoter insisting the singer will be back, with his current tour scheduled to continue this week. "I've spoken to his doctor, and it's clear it's just exhaustion and stress. It's not his last ever gig, that's for sure", insisted Andrew Miller. "He'll be fine. We hope that 24 hours rest will get him better", explained Miller, who said Meat is next due on-stage in Birmingham on Friday. Apparently the gig ended when he cut "Paradise On The Dashboard Light" short and left the stage, apologising to the crowd and making the disputed farewell. A spokeswoman for the venue said Meatloaf was suffering an inflammation of the larynx. ____________________________________________________ so I should think too he isn't that old , Poor Meatloaf get well soon . thank you for this news too Helen

The singer has not performed since he walked off stage halfway through a performance in Newcastle on Wednesday (October 31st).
Reports that the singer told the audience that I would be his last show were denied by his management company who said the he was suffering from “exhaustion and stress.”
Staff at the NEC have told the BBC that the star is due to arrive at the venue at 4pm to sound check for tonight’s show.
"As far as we are concerned the show in Birmingham is on as planned," a spokesperson said.
Following tonight’s show, Meat Loaf is due to perform in Manchester (November 4th), London (November 6th), Nottingham (November 8th) and Cardiff (November 11th).

Poor Meatloaf he is really ill . _____________________________________________________________ Illness forces Meat Loaf to axe gig Thousands of Meat Loaf fans have been left disappointed yet again after the singer pulled out of a concert. The US entertainer was due to play at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Sunday night but cancelled on doctor's orders due to acute laryngitis. His show in Birmingham on Friday was also postponed but his advisors were hoping the Manchester date would go ahead as planned. Meat Loaf said: "Performing for my fans is the most important thing in the world to me. Over the years, I've gone on stage with a broken foot and an arrhythmic heart. "It was devastating having to come off stage in Newcastle but over time I've reluctantly learned that I have to abide by what the doctors tell me to do." Tickets for Meat Loaf's Manchester show will now be valid for the rescheduled gig on Tuesday November 27.
